The beetle survives by collecting water from morning mist thanks to its embossed shell. The mist is condensed on its bumps and form droplets that flow down into its mouth.
Applications
For architecture and specially for remote villages in Africa, revolutionary towers are being built thanks to the beetle water collecting technique to sustain a family daily needs. Made of a plastic frames material, textile acts like micro tunnels to collect the air humidity and collect as much as 20 to 30 litres of water per day.
