SILENT MOVEMENT
Lions are digitigrades, meaning they walk on their fingers. Lion cushions are particularly adapted to make its walk and race as silent as possible by deminishing noise and frictions on the ground.
Applications
Lions belong to the family of cats (felidae). They have the particularity to be digitigrades, which means they walk on their fingers, the plant of their feet not touching the ground. Their claws are retractable and don’t necessarily hit the ground either. Applications are for the transport industry for shock absorber in cars and for off-road vehicles imitating the lion cushions shock absorbing properties. Claws can also inspire retractable awning. Also for healthcare, these properties can improve medical equipments, such as retractable needles.
